Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies only to the information collected or submitted on the Ohio Association of Broadcasters website. We collect information that you submit to us when you register for a seminar, join the Association, make requests, submit a job posting and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Credit card information
  • Messages or postings that you create

We may also collect information about other people that you submit to us. For example, if you register to attend a seminar and want to send additional staff members, you will need to submit each attendee's contact information. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Credit card information

In addition to any information that you submit to us, we may also gather certain navigational information about where you go on our site and the means you use to access our site (e.g., browser version, domain type, IP address, service provider). All navigational information is typically gathered by OAB in the aggregate and generally will not be identified with a specific individual.

How We Use Information

We do not share the information you provide about yourself, or anyone else, with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete your request. For instance, we use third parties to help us process payment transactions.

We use non-identifying navigational information collected in the aggregate to improve our website and to share with certain advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

We do not use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out of, or otherwise prohibit, such unrelated uses. Finally, we may disclose specific personal information based on a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with or conform to the law or that such disclosure is necessary to protect the users of our website, the site itself, or the public.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial protections to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Such protections include the use of Secure Socket Layer technology in connection with online payment transactions.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

How To Access Or Correct Your Information

You can access and/or update any of your personally identifiable information that we collect online by contacting us via one of the methods described below. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to your personally identifiable information.

Public Forums

The Association may make job boards, message boards, news groups and/or other public forums available to its users. Please remember that, unless otherwise stated, any information that is disclosed in such areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information in such areas.
