Job Summary/Description:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead our successful sales department as a General Sales Manager. The person we hire will be responsible for working with the sales management team and account executives to meet their client’s goals as well as our internal goals.

Gray Television Inc. is looking for its next General Sales Manager in Cleveland. This person will oversee sales for Gray Digital Media Cleveland, WOIO (CBS), WUAB (CW), and WTCL (Telemundo). We have an amazing staff of experienced sellers, and we are aggressively growing our sales department.

The person we hire for this position will have an abundance of resources. Gray is one of the largest media companies in the country and offers unparalleled support to its stations. In addition to our broadcast properties, we have access to just about any digital marketing product on the market and reporting tools that share real-time metrics with our clients. We also have two amazing video teams to utilize: our award-winning Creative Services team here in Cleveland and the national team at Gray. The person we hire for this position will have all the tools necessary for success.

Cleveland is an amazing city. With three major professional sports teams, an impressive restaurant scene, low cost of living, and access to Lake Erie, Cleveland is an amazing place to live and work. By the way, there is basically zero traffic compared to other large cities.

We are building something special in Cleveland. According to Nielsen, we are currently the #1 rated station in the market sign on to sign off, and ratings continue to grow. We recognize that digital is the future, and we are working to forge a path to be the leader in that arena. Both our company and our stations are growing. We now need a General Sales Manager to help lead us to the next level and beyond.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Create and sustain a sales culture aimed at providing clients with everything they need to find their customers
• Build and hit budgets; provide timely forecasts
• Coach and develop our current staff of account executives, and recruit new AEs on this growing team
• Work across departments to meet the goals of the clients and company

• Must have a strong knowledge of digital platforms as well as broadcast sales
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings
• Ability to present, negotiate, close deals, and build long-term relationships
• Thorough attention to detail
