Job Summary/Description:
FOX19 in Cincinnati has an immediate opening for an experienced, dynamic & engaging weekend AM anchor/MMJ. Must be someone who can communicate directly with our viewers, with impact and credibility. Great ad-lib skills are a must. We are looking for a journalist who is determined to help our station win on every platform, every single day. Will report for our weekday morning newscast three days (during the week).
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Anchor weekend morning newscasts
• Strong fact-checking skills and copy-editing ability
• Conduct live interviews
• Develop story ideas, book guests, and contribute to weekend AM content decisions
• Covers news, particularly breaking news, LIVE three days a week (during morning newscast)
• Contribute stories to all platforms – streaming, website, and social media
Qualifications/Requirements:
• At least 1-2 years of experience as a weekend news anchor is preferred
• Ability and desire to be a leader in a large, dynamic newsroom
• Must be able to work quickly, meet deadlines, multi-task, and show composure, especially during high-pressure breaking news situations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Expert-level ad-libbing skills
• This position requires exceptional news judgment, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented approach to winning
• Candidate must successfully complete an MVR check
