Job Summary/Description:
WXIX FOX19 in Cincinnati, OH is looking for a dynamic, warm, and engaging anchor for the market’s #1 morning newscast. FOX19 is on the air from 4:30 a.m. to noon. This anchor will play a key role during this broadcast. This person must be someone who can communicate directly with our viewers, with impact and credibility. In addition to having a commanding presence at the desk, this anchor must be able to anchor breaking news in the field. This person will take part in the planning of our shows and will produce content regularly (including booking guests). Great ad-lib skills are a must. As a leader, this person is expected to be a mentor for journalists in the FOX19 newsroom. We are looking for a journalist who is determined to help our station win on every platform, every single day.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
• Co-anchor morning newscasts Monday-Friday
• Strong fact-checking skills and copy-editing ability
• Conduct live interviews and anchor continuous coverage
• Develop story ideas, book guests, and contribute daily to AM content decisions
• Produce weekly AM news franchise
• Report on special projects as assigned
• Covers news, particularly breaking news, in the field when necessary
• Contribute stories to all platforms – streaming, website, and social media
• Represent the station in the community and for various promotional events

Qualifications/Requirements:
• At least 5-7 years of experience as a morning news anchor is preferred
• Previous experience working in a top 50 market and in a fast-paced environment is preferred
• Ability and desire to be a leader in a large, dynamic newsroom
• Must be able to work quickly, meet deadlines, multi-task, and show composure, especially during high-pressure breaking news situations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Expert-level ad-libbing skills
• This position requires exceptional news judgment, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented approach to winning
