About WOIO/WUAB:
WOIO-19 and WUAB-TV are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as WTCL, the only Telemundo station in the Cleveland DMA. We produce 66.5 hours of live, local news, weather and sports every week and deliver content on a 24/7 basis on our digital platforms on WOIO and 5+ hours of news on WTCL.

Job Summary/Description:
WOIO 19 News is seeking a Sports Reporter/Anchor. The successful candidate will report, anchor and produce compelling, urgent and immediate sports content on TV and all our digital platforms. The ideal candidate must be a Jack-of-all-Trades in sports and perform a variety of tasks in the field and the studio. Must be highly skilled in crafting engaging sports content with the ability to thrive in a competitive sports town, including the ability to grow the depth of our sports material, “own” breaking sports, enterprise and investigative sports journalism. Demonstrate the ability to recruit viewers to daily sportscasts, daily web content, daily OTT content, as well as weekly special projects including NFL pre and post games shows. You will be a key member of our team responsible for Browns NFL coverage within newscasts and specials. Must have the desire to present breaking sports news to run in both news and sports blocks. Must also contribute to all social media platforms to help recruit viewers.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be a great communicator and work well under pressure and with a diverse group of people. Strong verbal/written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style required. Be a positive leader inside and outside the newsroom. Understand the difference between writing for television and writing for the web. Applicant should have a minimum of five (5) years experience in medium to large market sports. Experience with newsroom computer systems (ENPS) preferred. Bilingual journalism skills also preferred.
