Job Summary/Description:
WXIX FOX19 is looking for a Streaming Digital Content Producer/Editor to join our award-winning team. The successful candidate understands the importance of enterprise storytelling, content generation, and live/breaking news on the FOX19 digital and social platforms. The employee will be responsible for generating digital content for FOX19.com and the station’s social media platforms. The person will also lead the station’s efforts to expand local programming on the FOX19 streaming platforms (FOX19 app on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV). This employee will produce and edit local projects & shows for these platforms. This person will appear in front of the camera, from time to time, for digital projects.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Work under tight deadlines on a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, shift coverage, breaking news, and severe weather
• Monitor news sources to develop news content for digital platforms
• Write and post content, including news stories, videos, and pictures, across all FOX19 digital and social platforms
• Assignment desk duties (from time to time)
• Produce and edit local programming (using Edius editing software) for an on-demand section of FOX19 streaming apps
• Work with members of the FOX19 News Team to create original content for streaming platforms
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Excellent writing, storytelling, and editing skills
• Experience with Edius software
• Solid news judgment
• Work under pressure; meet deadlines
• Solid on-air presentation skills (to appear in front of the camera for digital projects)
• Familiarity with all distribution platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Streaming, etc.
• A Bachelor`s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required
