Investing in the next generation.
Ohio broadcasters have a rich heritage. While the media landscape has experienced tremendous change, we strongly believe that local radio and television stations will continue to play a critical role in informing, warning and entertaining their listeners and viewers. The OAB wants to invest in the next generation of broadcasters.
The OAB Kids Scholarship will be the only scholarship awarded in 2022. The OAB and the Ohio Broadcasters Foundation are evaluating other scholarships as part of an overall review of programs to best support students and others interested in a career in broadcasting.
OAB Kids Scholarship
The OAB Kids Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior planning to attend college the following year, whose parent is employed by an OAB member station. More than $35,000 has been awarded since the OAB Kids Scholarship was established in 2004.
This scholarship is a one-time award of $2,500. Recipients are not precluded from applying for other scholarships through the Ohio Broadcasters Scholarship Program, provided they meet relevant eligibility requirements.
The application period for the 2023 OAB Kids Scholarship will open in January. Please stay tuned for more details.
