OAB Diversity Series

Embracing Diversity to Increase Your Station’s Success

Live Zoom Sessions Exclusively for OAB Members!

No matter what size market, radio and television touches individuals’ lives every day, and in very different ways. The OAB is proud to invest in its members and offer compelling training that opens the doors to new ideas that can be implemented in all station operations.

Our upcoming live webinars – available exclusively for OAB members – focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA) Leadership Excellence. Broadcast radio and television lead with integrity as the eyes and ears of the world. Learn how small changes will keep the broadcasting industry on the cutting edge of information and entertainment.

The courses include:

  • Hiring & Developing Diverse Talent – June 8 and August 11
  • Cultivating More Inclusive Work Environments – June 15 and 23

Through these two courses, leaders and managers at member stations will gain valuable insights for building inclusive work environments and creating a framework of effective and sustainable leadership practices. Each course is designed specifically to target the most relevant topics faced in the broadcast industry.

The courses will be led by Sharon Fitzpatrick, President of The Fitzpatrick Group, who also presented the OAB’s DE&I training last year.  These courses are stand-alone programs – completion of one course is not required for participation in the other. Each course will be offered twice.

This training is free for OAB members, but registration is required.

Participation in these training sessions may qualify your station’s employment unit for outreach activity credit under the FCC’s EEO Rules, particularly if management-level personnel attend the training.

This program is coordinated by the OAB DE&I Advisory Committee, established by the OAB Board of Directors to support diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at our member stations and promote increased diversity within the broadcast industry.
