OAB Kids Scholarship Program

Applications for a the 2026 OAB Kids Scholarship
will open in Early January.

The Scholarship

The Ohio Association of Broadcasters, through the Ohio Broadcasters Foundation, annually awards one $2,500 OAB Kids Scholarship to a child of a full-time employee of an OAB member station. More than $35,000 has been awarded since the OAB Kids Scholarship was established in 2004.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:

  • Graduating high school senior in 2026
  • Plan to enroll at a post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year (may be public or private, in or out of the state of Ohio)
  • Parent/guardian is a full-time employee of an OAB member station at time of application

Major or field of study is not a determining factor for the scholarship.

No applicant will be denied on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex or age. Family members of a trustee or officer of the foundation are not eligible for the OAB Kids Scholarship.

Application Process

  • Please complete the electronic application form and attach required documents:
    • Responses to the essay question included on the application.
    • A copy of your high school transcript.
  • Please contact the OAB’s Mariah West if you would like a PDF version of the application form, or if you need to send any required documents separately from the rest of your application.
  • All application materials must be submitted by Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
  • We may contact the station manager to verify parent-employer relationship. Applicants will be copied on all contact with the station manager and his/her timely response is your responsibility.
  • Scholarship awards will be announced in May of 2026.
