While we can’t have everyone together in-person this year Midwest Broadcast & Multimedia Technology Conference, we do want to support engineering and multimedia professionals at our member stations during these challenging times. At the suggestion of our conference planning committee, we are organizing virtual sessions to allow sharing of best practices among engineers in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
Our first session focused on best practices in adapting to radio on-air talent and production working remotely during the stay-at-home order and featured these presentations:
• De-Centralized Radio: How Covid-19 is Making Us Focus on the Basics (Click here for slides)
Jamie Till, Director of Engineering, Sarkes Tarzian Radio Division
• Remote Studio Operations on a Budget…. Or How to “Do Radio” at Home during a Pandemic for a Reasonable Cost (Click here for slides)
Burley Stapley, Chief Engineer, Blanchard River Broadcasting
Chris Oaks, Morning Host, WFIN-AM
• Maintaining Broadcast Facilities Across a Large Group of Stations in Three States During a Pandemic
Rick Crago, Chief Engineer, Forcht Broadcasting
